30th October 2005 Windsurfing: Poole Wind Direction: Westish Wind Stength: F4-F5 Surf / Sea State: Small Chop Air Temperature: Mild Sea Temperature: Mild Weather: Cloudy with some sunny spells Max Speed: Distance Covered: Debated for ages as we arrived to apathy inside, but full on conditions on the outside. Watched one poor guy get repeatedly munched by the shorebreak and decided today was not a day to venture into the real sea for the first time! Eventually decided to rig and get wet and am glad I did. Although sometimes a bit gusty I had some good runs to and fro and was in the mood to try a couple of gybes (never more than about 100' before falling in though). Managed some water starts to prove I had not completely lost the skills and had one full on run - possibly the fastest I have ever been on the powerglide. I suspect it was the new 'slalom style' fin. Good day out. First use of the winter suit this autumn so was toasty |
